South African fast bowling veteran Dale Steyn arrived in Islamabad on Saturday to join Islamabad United for the ongoing 5th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL)

The 36-year-old missed the first 4 games for the former 2-time Champions Islamabad, having been busy on International duty in the recently concluded T20 series against Australia.
The Protean pacer, who will now be available for the rest of the PSL, was due to put on the United shirt as the men in red were scheduled to face Peshawar Zalmi for Saturday’s evening fixture. However, the relentless weather of Rawalpindi led to the game being abandoned without a single ball being bowled. The game ended in a draw, with both sides sharing a point each.
Lethal pace-swing combination, scary eyes, throbbing veins and a trademark celebration make sure Dale Steyn’s name will go down as one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time. The Protean legend has over 700 wickets across all 3 formats of the game. Moreover, he has played in countless T20 competitions around the world throughout his storied career. In short, Steyn is going to be an absolute game changer for Islamabad United, even at 36 years of age!
Meanwhile, having won 2 games out of 2 thus far, United currently sit 4th on the PSL table with 5 points. Zalmi have the same number of points, but sit 4th due to an inferior net run rate.
