The fast-bowling great emphasized that multiple international players from top-ranked countries like England, Australia, West Indies, and New Zealand are currently starring in the 5th edition of the Pakistan Super League. The 66-year-old believes that this will act as a catalyst behind Test nations wanting to tour Pakistan, amidst hugely improved security conditions.
“I am so glad to hear that the PSL is being played totally in Pakistan this time around. I think this will spur other countries around the world to recognize that they can start revisiting Pakistan to play cricket there.” said Holding
Holding, one of the most renowned cricket commentators in the world, added that Pakistan is immensely passionate about the game of cricket and they deserve to have international cricket played on hometurf.
The West Indies national team was among the first 2 teams to visit Pakistan as soon as the long-awaited return of International cricket took center stage in the country.
The massive improved security conditions in the country have allowed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to host the entire PSL 5 in Pakistan. Following the end of the country’s Premier T20 league, Pakistan will host Bangladesh for a bilateral series this year. South Africa and England are expected to tour the country later this year.
