Asia-Cup-2020-Canceled-Corona-virus
Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the ACC meeting which was to decide the venues of Asia Cup 2020, has been postponed to an unknown future date.

Much like countless other sporting events around the world, the fate of another much-anticipated tournament hangs in the balance, given the testing conditions regarding the Coronavirus pandemic.
This year’s historic Asia Cup was to be played between India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Pakistan from September. However, due to the lockdowns imposed in these countries due to the COVID-19 spread, things are looking quite bleak at the moment.
Recently, India Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced 21-day lockdown in the country. On the other hand, the 4 provincial governments in Pakistan have also imposed temporary lockdowns, amidst the increasing coronavirus cases in the country.
The ACC meeting was specifically arranged to find a solution for the venue-fiasco of the Asia Cup 2020. The tournament was originally supposed to be hosted by Pakistan Cricket Board, but the BCCI refused to send its players across the border.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly revealed that Team India will not be able to Pakistan for any tournamwnt, however a neutral venue could work.
The PCB on the other hand was in consent to host some of the games of Asia Cup 2020 against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan in their own country. According to PCB chairman Ehsan Mani, it would be a massive benefit for them at the time when International cricket is gradually returning to the country.
“PCB’s stance is that with international cricket slowly returning to Pakistan could benefit from hosting few games of the Asia Cup at home,” a PCB spokesperson said
Now that the ACC meeting has been canceled twice, a video conference will be held in order to proceed with all necessary discussions.
