The coronavirus menace has led to almost 13 overseas players departing the ongoing 5th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Amongst the few that are left in the league is the ever-pleasant Hashim Amla, who is the batting coach of former champions Peshawar Zalmi.
The Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday announced that all the remaining PSL games would be played behind closed doors amidst the increasing threat of the coronavirus. On Friday, Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi requested the PSL technical committee to allow the inclusion of batting coach Hashim Amla and head coach Darren Sammy in their starting XI because of the departure of most of their overseas players.
However, Zalmi went ahead without the iconic duo and ended up losing a close contest against league-leaders Multan by 3 runs. The 2017 champions have already secured a berth in the semi finals and will look for revenge against Multan, in a game that will matter than any other group game.
